Guided Tree
Guided Tree is a high-traffic onboarding web app that helps millions of users build family trees up to four generations. It uses a guided flow and smart ancestor matching via internal search tools, allowing users to enter known or approximate data and connect with the broader community tree.
My contribution
I led the frontend effort to scale the app from three to four generations, solving complex state management challenges and optimizing performance using React best practices, caching with Tanstack Query, and testing with Jest and Cypress. I also contributed to analytics instrumentation, cross-team collaboration, and maintaining the core wrapper component used across multiple experiences.
